Every month, museum visitors choose the exhibit they liked the most. What they singled out for March was the Lesser White-fronted Goose (Anser erythropus).

The Lesser White-fronted Goose is the rarest and most endangered waterbird in Europe, where it is classified as Critical Endangered, with a Fennoscandian population of only 30-35 pairs. It nests in the Arctic Habitats and overwinters in the wetlands of northern Greece during its migration from autumn to early spring. Its similarity to the Greater white-fronted Goose, which is a common and predatory species, can lead to mis-hunting, while other threats to the species include poaching, the conversion of wetlands to farmland or the draining of wetlands. In recent decades, programs have been running to conserve and enhance the populations of the Lesser white-fronted goose in wintering areas and migration stations, as in Greece.
