Every month, museum visitors choose the exhibit they liked the most. What they singled out for September was a mushroom, the Gliophorus psittacinus.

Gliophorus psittacinus, commonly known as the parrot toadstool or parrot waxcap, fruits from September to December, usually in groups in grasslands, among grass and moss. It is not such a common mushroom, as it is now mainly found in Northern Europe due to habitat degradation. It has a conical cap 1-6 cm in diameter with a bright green color and a slimy surface, and a more greenish-yellow appearance when mature. The rest of the body is also greenish in color, with a foot height of 3-8 cm. Although mild in taste and aroma, it is not recommended as edible.
