Nature and Cultural activities by the Museum during the Three-Day Carnival Celebration
Truffle Huntings and “Nights at the Museum”
The Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum, located in the town of Kalambaka, in central Greece, announces its annual program of activities for 2026, inviting visitors and nature enthusiasts to enjoy three unique experiences in the Meteora region.
In addition to the now well-established Truffle Hunting, this year’s program is enriched with two new activities: “Truffle Hunting with Horseback Riding” and “Nights at the Museum.”
The activities will also take place during the three-day Carnival period, on 21, 22, and 23 February 2026, offering both children and adults the opportunity to combine Carnival traditions with experiential activities in nature and culture.
At the same time, the available dates for the entire year have been announced, aimed at individual visitors. There is also the possibility of organizing activities for groups, as well as in a private experience, following consultation with the Museum.
Dates and participation information are available on the Museum’s official website: www.meteoramuseum.gr.
The three activities:
2. Truffle Hunting with Horseback Riding at Meteora: An authentic activity combining forest exploration on horseback, adventure, and gastronomy, ideal for those seeking something truly different.
3. Nights at the Museum: An experience that transforms the Museum visit into a special journey of images, aromas, and flavors, in a space filled with stories of nature
