The preparations for the 2nd Panhellenic Truffle Festival continue unabated. The Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum in cooperation with the Region of Thessaly and the Municipality of Meteora, are stepping up the pace in order for everything to go according to the existing planning.

Thus, those who wish to learn about truffles and mushrooms will have the opportunity, through four seminars, which will be conducted by experts, to get acquainted with them and learn their secrets.

Specifically: 

On Thursday 10/10/2024, at 19:00, in the Nitsa Liapi Hall, the first seminar on "Cultivation of Truffles" will take place, with speakers being the leading truffle experts and growers, Mrs. Nola Katerina and Mr. Mylonas Vassilis.

On the same day as the next seminar, Mr. Nikos Tsilis, a dog trainer and truffle hunter, will discuss dog training for finding truffles, the most appropriate breeds, etc.

On Saturday 12/10/2024, two seminars will be held in the same room.

At 18:45, Mr. Vassilis Kaounas, member of the Board of Directors of Mushroom Friends of Greece, will refer to the main types of truffles found in our country, while at 19:15, Mrs. Olga Gortzi, professor of the University of Thessaly, will refer to the nutritional value of mushrooms and truffles, as well as their connection with their commercial value and their position in the market. These four seminars will be very specialised and will answer a series of questions and queries that will help all those who want to deal with this subject. 

Finally, it should be noted that throughout the Festival, truffle farmers, dog trainers and truffle hunters will be present in the square, in a special area, in order to share their knowledge with anyone interested.
